We recently stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we had a lovely welcoming drink on arrival, the rooms are beautiful, staff friendly & so attentive. They made our celebrations even more special with little treats, & a beautifully laid table for our meal.The food is exceptional, we had a wonderful time, beyond our expectations. Thankyou! Just had 2 nights here. A real treat. Despite the dreadful weather, we had a wonderful stay. It’s as comfy, warm and relaxing as it looks in the photos. What really made our visit though were the staff. Their genuine smiles and care spoke volumes for the pride they have in working here. Helped us settle in quickly and feel comfortable so we could prioritise us. Just what we needed. Thanks each and every one of you.

We recently stayed at Summer Lodge to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday, and opted for the Perfect Stay package. The breakfasts at the hotel were perfect, with high quality locally sourced ingredients, and great coffee. The 3-course dinner at the Acorn Inn (owned by the same people) was absolutely stunning, and just a short walk from the hotel. (Torches and umbrellas were supplied!) Dinner at Summer Lodge Restaurant was on a par with several Michelin-starred restaurants we've visited, with impeccable service. The Afternoon Tea was good, with attentive service and served in the stunning Drawing Room. We also appreciated being able to take away our leftover cakes. We very much enjoyed a whiskey tasting with Jonathann, who was very knowledgable, and we enjoyed use of the spa with some lovely treatments. As part of the Perfect Stay package, Summer Lodge also supplied a very generous picnic, which we ended up enjoying on the journey home. The hotel is old-school in a very pleasant way, and utterly charming. We visited in early January, not the busiest time for a luxury hotel, but nevertheless we found the staff to be helpful, friendly, approachable, and dedicated to giving the best possible service. Roaring fires are carefully maintained to keep the hotel warm and provide ambience, and there are thoughtful touches throughout - every time I thought "wouldn't it be nice if..." they always pre-empted my wishes. If you have the chance to stay in the Master Bedroom, take it. We enjoyed the opulence, it was befitting of a milestone birthday treat! Overall, if you are looking for a charming luxury getaway, with brilliant service and incredible food, you can't get much better than Summer Lodge! We will be back...

Beautiful old fashioned luxury hotel, rooms and service were amazing. Great food at the hotel and lovely nearby Acorn Inn. Spa was nice. Some items were a little overpriced but that comes with the territory. Nice selection of whiskeys you can enjoy by an open fire!

Visited this week for Traditional afternoon tea with my Mother as a present for her. We both absolutely loved every minute! The sandwiches, cakes and cream tea were really delicious. Luckily we could take a doggy bag home with us as we was full. We took a stroll around the gardens afterwards and it was very peaceful and tranquil. We will revisit maybe even stay next time thank you.

Simply the best hotel stay. A classic British hotel being run by silky smooth management that have created the ultimate relaxing family feel of genuine warmth and luxury. We can’t wait to go back.

Such a delightful stay. We both felt so at home here. If you are looking for a traditional English hotel where you can retire to the lounge by a roasting fire after a Grand Breakfast overlooking a beautiful English country garden, this is the place. Very friendly and kind team especially noting Phillip at breakfast, Bea at Reception, Jonathan the evening French Bar Man your longest standing member of staff. Jack the GM certainly knows what he is doing it is such a well run hotel. We were very lucky to have a package deal that included one night eating at the lodge, and one night just down the road at the Inn where head chef Ana made us such a wonderful tasty meal. I especially enjoyed the Scallops the Homemade Fish Pie of the day and the Banana Go Go Cocktail which I highly recommend. Amber deserves a special mention very attentive and she understood my humour! Excellent rapport. The Spa pool and hot tub were a delightful bonus after a hard day of reading in front of the roasting fire. Sarah the gardener is your shining star. A wonderful two nights in this hidden gem.
